Title: Chinese Export Accountant (Foods)

Language Required: Mandarin Chinese

Salary: Between £35,000- £45,000 per annum depending on experience

Sector: Import-export company (Food sector and supermarket clients)

Location: KENT (there is free car parking available on site and other excellent benefits including food and ingredients)

Company: Have you got Accounting experience, speak fluent Chinese and are looking for your next career step in a growing sector? This import-export business supplies around 300 supermarkets in Europe and Asia with genuine Chinese food ingredients. The supermarket sector is currently one of the only areas experiencing a real boom in demand as a result of “lockdown”, and this is unlikely to change in the foreseeable but it means that you will be joining a company where there are real long term career opportunities as a result of this growth.

This is a high invoice volume environment as the company supplies multiple products to its customers and works in Chinese and UK currencies.

Responsibilities:

PREPARE STATUTORY ACCOUNTS

• Prepare statutory accounts and compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS;
• Liaise with external auditors
• Prepare schedules to support the preparation of annual accounts

INVOICES & BANKING

• Month-end invoice reconciliations (use of SAGE)
• Verify invoices against PO’s
• Process invoices and undertake payment runs
• All bank reconciliations: checking of bank statement, research and reconcile all discrepancies, file the bank reconciliation statement.
• Deal with VAT compliance

SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS

• Manage all supplier contracts signed by UK companies and third parties
• Check agreed supplier contracts before making any contract-related payments;
• Liaise with suppliers to resolve general account/invoice queries;
• Manage the sales ledger

Requirements:

• Degree educated
• Experience as an Accountant
• Fluent Chinese/English. The ability to read simplified Chinese is essential
