Leading consulting company focused on downstream energy industry sector. The principal activities of the company are providing consultancy services and conducting studies in the oil refining marketing and power distribution sector.
You will support the Finance Manager who is responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate finance function within the business.
Duties will include basic bookkeeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers and ensuring that records and payments are correct. The Accounts Assistant will report directly to the Finance Manager.
Main aspects and objectives of this role:
The primary role is to maintain the company’s purchase ledger, prepare weekly payment runs and manage staff expenses, company credit card & petty cash expenditure.
The accounts assistant will also assist with credit control, which will involve sending monthly statements via email, answering customer queries and chasing bad debts via letter or on the phone.
Accounts Assistant tasks include:
Regular duties:
* Verifying and posting supplier invoices to ledger
* Preparing weekly supplier payment run
* Preparing ad-hoc payments as required
* Reconciling supplier accounts
* Analysing credit card statements & posting transactions on Sage
* Analysing and posting in sage o/s staff and Directors expenses
* Reconciling petty cash to Sage
* Updating currency exchange rates within sage each month
* Sending customer statements
* Circulating debtors’ list
Ad hoc duties
* Raising sales invoices as and when required
* Assisting with production of finance slide presentations for ARA
* Maintaining Asset Register
* Running regular Sage Back up
The position would be of interest to someone who:
* Is a bilingual English/ French speaker
* Has excellent, proven bookkeeping skills
* Has good IT skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* Knowledge of sage L50 would be a strong plus
* Is a team player, an outgoing self-starter who likes to work in a small company
