Salary : Total comp of Euro 79,200 + a car allowance

(Salary is comprised of base salary of Euros 72,000 + car + 10% bonus)

You will be working for a global not-for-profit company that aims to get is clients the best possible prices on food products in order to support them in growing and becoming successful. This role is based in Germany and you will be liaising with new and existing fresh produce suppliers to drive value, performance and efficiency. It’s a really lovely role for someone with purchasing expertise within Fresh Produce who is looking to develop their career further.

There will be some travel in this role as you will need to conduct regular visits to suppliers, growers and processors to become an expert in the product area and ensure delivery of continuous improvement

Duties

Existing Supplier Relationships

• Direct supplier category responsibility for the purchase of Fresh Produce
• Managing existing supplier relationships setting up meetings, providing prompt feedback and review contract terms
• Explore cost savings and any new fresh produce products
• Working with Logistics in order to seek to improve on delivery times
• Resolve issue where necessary
• Negotiating optimal terms for sourcing by understanding the trade-offs between cost, volume, and quality in order to strike agreements that satisfy client needs, meet performance criteria and secure long-term supply continuity

New supplier Relationships

• Find, source and negotiate new terms with suppliers
• Setting KPI’s and establish new contracts per product
• Provide clear feedback and attend regular meetings at supplier sites
• Develop positive longterm partnerships with suppliers
• Tracking all costs with an eye towards making savings where possible without compromising on quality

Project Management/Logistics strategies

• Develop long-term fresh produce category strategies
• Collate and analyse data to aid decision-making
• Liaise with clients and get ” buy in ” to products, pricing and delivery schedules
• Produce progress reports that are transparent on costs of produce
• Undertake bench marking research for clients

• Build deep understanding of cost structures, supply/value chains, and total cost of ownership

Requirements

• Fluent German
• Experience in purchasing Fresh Produce
• Strong stakeholder engagement background in terms of category development
• Based in Germany or willing to relocate to Germany
• Experience working in a service-oriented organization
• Degree educated
