Job Title: Mandarin Chinese Speaking Credit Controller

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum + free car parking

Sponsorship: NO. You must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship

Language required: Native standard Mandarin Chinese and fluent English

Contract type: Permanent, full-time

Location: Office based in Bedfordshire

The company

The food industry has been growing rapidly during this period, with increased interest in home-cooking, international foods and exotic recipes. This has resulted in a willingness by the general public to try new products and cooking ingredients. Our client is now looking for a Credit Controller with fluent Mandarin to act as the main point of contact between a growing number of Chinese speaking clients. The company is family owned and supplies a vast network of independent stores and global supermarkets all over the EU.

This role will be office based and the company has in place Covid-safety protocols.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be part of a multilingual Finance Team and work in a high-volume invoicing environment. Duties include:

• Liaise with banks regarding invoice financing processes
• Chase outstanding monies by phone, email, letter
• Recoup late payments
• Deal with payment enquiries and re-negotiate payment terms where necessary
• Ensure clients are billed on time
• Manage the debtor’s ledger
• Set up new client accounts
• Credit check new potential clients
• Manage cash allocations, authorise BACS payments (with the Finance Department)
• Maintain ledgers
• Supporting Finance Department where necessary

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience as a Credit Controller or accounts receivable
• Native level Mandarin Chinese and fluent English
• Advanced Excel
• Used to working in a high invoice volume environment (ideally in FMCG or similar)
