Title: Chinese Speaking Accounting/Financial Controller

Salary: £60,000 + (negotiable to excellent industry experienced candidate)

Location: London-based office. May WFH up to 3 days/week.

The Company

You will be joining a US-based company that is at the cutting edge of new developments within fintech. This sector is currently in fast-growth-mode and is changing the way money is transferred globally. The company is aggressively expanding its business in global remittance and is developing a new global remittance system. They are now looking for a Financial controller. This is a highly visible position and very much viewed as a key role and you will be responsible for setting up financial initiatives and providing leadership in terms of Accounting and Financial Governance & Reporting with a potential role in Financial and strategic planning. The position has a global role naturally so requires the candidate be able to work with geographically and culturally diversified team. The right candidate should have entrepreneur mindset and be willing to quickly adapt and take new responsibilities.

Duties: You will be fully responsible for financial planning/reporting and beyond –

• Set up and implement the financial controls framework (including establish local systems and controls and ensure proper reporting)
• Manage day-to-day banking relationships
• Oversee global cashflows
• Conduct on-going reviews of the Company’s payments, accounting, and finance procedures
• Compliance: work closely with the compliance officer to insure that all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations.

• Prepare and file financial statements, VAT returns and company income tax returns.
• Meet FCA legal standards
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting
• Present financial results to the CEO of the company, the Group CFO and Board of Directors.
• Conduct profit and cost analyses, identifying funding requirements and cost reduction strategies.

Requirements:

• Previous leadership experience as financial controller or similar roles in financial industry. Previous experience in a fast growing company is highly desired.
• Demonstrated understanding of UK regulatory frameworks and requirements related to Financial institutions, Electronic Money etc
• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Educated to a degree level, ideally within Accounting, Finance, or relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
• Relevant certifications (e.g. CFA/CPA/ACA/ACCA) will be considered as an advantage.
