German to English Technical Translator

Title: German INTO English TRANSLATOR

Salary £30,000 -£35,000 (Paid hourly on a temp agreement)

Contract: 12-month maternity cover role

Location: Office is located in Milton Keynes. However, the company is open to 100% remote working

The role

• The translation of user manuals, operating instructions, test reports and some marketing materials from German into English
• Full use of CAT tools to help optimise the translation process
• Translation of marketing and advertising materials including newsletters, exhibition literature, product brochures, press releases and magazines into English
• Translation of contracts, training courses etc
• Research appropriate terminology using CAT
• Proofread the work of external translators to ensure consistent high-quality standards.
• Work to deadlines
• Logging incoming translation work, file management, pricing, scheduling and outsourcing as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• English mother tongue standard with fluent German
• Postgraduate qualification in Translation (e.g. MA, Dip. Trans.)
• Previous translation experience and knowledge of CAT tools
