Job Title: Laboratory Administrative Support

Pay Rate: £10-£11 per hour (PAYE)

Duration: 9 months

Job Description:

You will be working for a global technology company who is taking its responsibly to keep everyone safe at work very seriously. This role is unique in that you will be part of the company’s Health and Safety team and will be rolling out mass ongoing Covid 19 testing across its laboratories. Ensuring that the work place is safe lies at the heart of this position and this “direct action” by an employer is a revolutionary way of ensuring that the virus is controlled and will therefore help everyone get back to work again without fear.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting in routine sample processing in a high-performance laboratory
• Assist laboratory professionals with various duties of a fully functioning laboratory
• Manage test processing, receipt, tracking and accessioning
• Perform duties involving the opening, labelling, and distribution of incoming samples
• Assist in laboratory maintenance, including equipment maintenance, maintaining lab cleanliness and a safe laboratory environment
• Accurately enter all sample request information into the inventory management system
• Follow the laboratory’s established policies and procedures
• Sort, track, and carry packages. Distribute packages in a timely and efficient manner following distribution guidelines
• General warehouse/inventory management duties

Note: This position requires sustained work including lifting objects no more than 25 lb. in a laboratory that will be receiving biological specimens.

Basic Qualifications

• GCSEs grades 1-3
• Knowledge of and interest in medical terminology, biology, laboratory medicine, anatomy or physiology

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a clinical lab
• Knowledge of specimen handling and collection requirements and general laboratory workflow
