The company : This is an exciting opportunity for an HR Generalist who is based in Paris ( or happy to be based in Paris) to step into a newly created role stand-alone HR role for the French country office of this global Bank. It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone with in depth knowledge of the French employment law landscape to set up all systems from scratch and get involved in both operational aspects of this role as well as strategic aspects. The team in Paris is currently about 65 people and this is forecasted to grow to well over 110 + in the next year alone. There is real scope for career development as the role morphs and develops over the next 12 months.
The role: A mix of Operational and Strategic HR
Duties : This is a new stand-alone role, so you will be required to set up all HR systems and processes and manage the expectations of stakeholders who are not used to having someone in this role. Your line manager will be based in the UK and will fully support you on a day to day basis
- Set up all new HR processes including recruitment/HR policies/employee engagement/grievance procedures etc
- Be the first point of contact internally and trusted advisor on all operational HR issues
- Work as part of the UK based HR team to implement frameworks and objectives that deliver results in line with the company strategy
- Undertake generalist HR Operational Admin
- Lead on critical ER cases providing professional advice and support to key stakeholders
- Deal with confidential HR information
- Manage complex stakeholder relationships ( based across the EU )
- Managing the local payrolls across geographies
- Overseeing all employee benefits, ensure background checks are made , check work permits and process visa applications
- Onboarding new staff/off-boarding and exit interviews
- Develop robust performance measurement tools, undertake appraisals & performance reviews
- Liaise with staff across all levels of the business
- Set up training
- Interview and recruit new staff
- Liaise with recruitment agencies
- Produce, analyse and share data to identify employment trends and assist with recommendations on how to address staffing or training challenges
- Strategic project work including policy writing and producing business cases for policy recommendations
- Work on an end-to-end employee life cycle project
REQUIREMENTS:
- Native level French
- Experience of French labour law
- 5-10 years previous HR experience is essential
- Happy with a mix of operational/strategic work
- Based in Paris
