Company : If you are a numerate graduate and are looking to embark on a career within financial services then look no further! This company will train you fully as a credit analyst – a role where you will have the authority to decide who is eligible for loans and who does not meet the criteria. You will be part of a small and very friendly team of 7 who work closely together to assess the credit worthiness companies and individuals and as such you will go through a rigorous training programme that will include work shadowing, on-the-job and classroom based learning . You will be taught how to ” read” financial statements and how to interpret risk . After three months you will be given a portfolio of enquiries to deal with and genuine responsibility which will set you up for a fast-paced career in Underwriting .
The role: dealing directly with small business owners and entrepreneurs across Germany your role is to make the process of managing loan applications as stress-free, fast and easy as possible!
There are 4 key elements to this role 1) Advise the customer & understand needs 2) analyse risk 3) Due diligence research and 4) process and issue the loan
1) Advise the customer
- Advising SME’s that are in need of working capital
- Communicate openly and honestly with the loan applicants via phone and email
- Understand the underlying needs of the loan applicant and gain a real understanding of their business.
- Adapting your underwriting to match a variety of different businesses, from local bakeries to highly specialised manufacturers.
2) Analyse
- Analysing credit data, financial statements to determine the level of risk involved in lending.
- Conducting thorough due diligence
- Make lending decisions based on a thorough understanding of the business and the applicant .
- Ensure that decisions are always fair
3) Due diligence
- Research the business and the sector
- Ensure that the applicant is in a position to repay the loan
- Working closely with the Tech and Analytics team to improve systems
- Liaising with Account Managers to ensure customer needs are met at all times.
4) process the loan
- You will be processing and analysing 6-8 applications per day
Requirements
- Fluent German
- Numerate
- Good degree
- This would suit someone with credit control or accounts experience who is looking to move into a more career orientated role
