Pay: £11.70 to £14.80 per hour + Holiday pay (Pay rate will depend on amount of experience)
Office Location: Hemel Hampstead
Work location: Hybrid 2 days in the office and 3 remote -commute to Hemel Hampstead required
Shifts: Weekly shift patterns – Mornings, afternoon, and evenings
Job summary
Our client is one of the worlds leading retail and logistics companies. They are expanding their Logistics Central Ops team in Hemel Hempstead and are looking for Logistics Planners to join the team as soon as possible.
As Logistics Planner, you will play an integral part in Logistics operation, and make a direct impact on how quickly a package reaches the customer. You will support daily planning and forecasting to help the delivery centres to deliver to their customers.
You will report into the Lead Logistics Planner and be part of a team of Logistics Schedulers supporting the daily planning, routing and execution functions for delivery centres in the UK network.
You will carry out daily route planning operations for Next Day and Same Day delivery services, following standard operations benchmark procedures but also having the chance to improve the status quo through continuous improvement initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
- Conduct daily dispatch planning operations for Delivery Stations
- Coordinate Sortation Associates planning operations for Delivery Stations
- Coordinate transitions between Forecasting/Scheduling and Routing operations
- Develop, audit and update standard work documents
- Function as an advisor to the UK Delivery Station network on standard operational practices
- Mentor new joiners
- Lead continuous improvement GEMBA walks
- Participate in auditing and updating daily checklists
- Keep the customer at the heart of every decision you make
Basic qualifications
- Solid computer skills, including the ability to understand and handle Excel data reports, pivot tables and work with web-integrated workflows
- Able to use multiple software platforms simultaneously to produce accurate outputs
- Experience communicating verbally and in writing in a professional environment
Evidence of delivering high-quality customer experience in an ever-growing organisation
Preferred qualifications
- Experience using SQL OR Python
- Experience in a similar matrix driven organisation
