Global logistics business with branches across the world and about 1,000 staff based in China. This is an exciting role and a key appointment for the Supply Chain team as the business is expanding strongly into the EU and also across the USA. The brand is already very well known in Asia and they are therefore able to leverage their excellent reputation to help them grow quickly in the EU and America

Summary of the role: you will play a vital role in setting up the UK supply chain and logistics function as they scale into the UK and Europe. You must have some experience of setting up processes from scratch. This is a fabulous opportunity to stamp your expertise and knowledge onto a role

DUTIES

• SET UP PROCESSES
• Set up the new UK supply chain, putting in processes from the ground up
• Integrate the UK function into the global processes
• Work with existing logistics partners
• Establish relationships with new logistics providers
• Measure and results and refine process improvements
• Hire, train, and coach members of the team
• Keep the teams are kept informed and coordinated
• Work with suppliers including 3PLs, freight forwarders, shipping lines and airlines to achieve results
• Out together team performance KPIs
• SET UP STRATAGIES
• Develop an inventory, warehousing, procurement, and logistics strategy
• Work with other teams in Marketing, Product, Operations, Finance, and Logistics to support new product/service launches
• MANAGE BUDGETS
• P&L management
• Put together cost-to-serve models, activity-based costing and measure improvements to KPI’s
• UNDERSTAND HMRC REGULATIONS
• Be on top of all customs, incoterms and associated HMRC regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience within global freight forwarding (3+ years)
• A deep understanding of 3PL contract logistics environments is essential
• Knowledge of UK/European customs regulations.
