Title: FOOD Purchasing Manager: Meat and Fish
Location: Hybrid role ( 2 days in the office in Buckinghamshire. UK)
Language required: Fluent English
Contract type: 6 month project
Sector : Food in Hospitality (food for hotels and restaurants)
Salary : £62,750 Total annual comp pro rata
(comprised of base salary £55,000 + £7750 car allowance. If the role extends then you would be eligible for an additional 10% bonus)
WFH: Yes. This is a hybrid role (circa 2 days in office/3 days wfh)
COMPANY DETAILS :
You will be working for a specialist organisation and non-profit that sources foods globally. You will focus on market research, category insight and strategic sourcing to drive value and performance from new and existing suppliers.
Your role “sits” between your chosen suppliers and your clients and you will have direct personal contact with both.
Duties
Supplier Relationship Management
- Negotiate contract extensions or new contracts with existing suppliers of meat and fish products
- Visit suppliers across Europe and locally
- Research and locate new suppliers in Europe and Globally
- Sourcing NPD items
- research sustainability and animal welfare issues before engaging with suppliers
Contract Management
- Work closely Legal and NPD teams
- Analyse financial quotations from suppliers
- Ensure that there is accurate allergen, ingredient and nutritional information across all items
- Undertake benchmarking research for clients

- Experience working in a meat or fish purchasing role
- Car driver as there will be some travel involved to visit suppliers
