Description
Our client is a leading independent macro-economic research provider, who offer subscription based, and consultancy services to wide range of industries. Their services allow clients and partners to make better investment, commercial and policy decisions.
They are looking for an experienced business development professional to help grow their bespoke consultancy revenues.
The primary focus of this role will be to generate new revenues from existing clients, and to produce and pursue new leads with the support of the marketing team.
The key target markets are private equity, real estate investors, and companies within financial services. A secondary objective will be to develop leads and sell a variety of consumer risk products suitable for retail banks, credit card companies and other consumer lending businesses.
This role will be based in London and work closely with the Head of Partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Identify leads from sources such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, company websites, news articles, trade shows and exhibitions.
- Mine the CRM database (Salesforce) to prioritise and segment existing subscribers and leads for central marketing campaigns and consultancy revenues.
- Generate sales opportunities with new prospects and existing subscription clients by telephone, email, and virtual meetings.
- Maintain a sales pipeline within Salesforce.
- Work closely with the Economists within the Consultancy team on pitches, tenders, and proposals.
- Contract negotiation
- Provide account management to new and existing consultancy clients.
Requirements
- You will have had success, with over 1 to 2 years’ experience, generating new business in a relevant B2B environment, preferably an economics consultancy, management consultancy or similar professional services.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Fluent in English to a native standard
- Strong communication skills are essential, and you must be comfortable dealing with senior level contacts.
- Have an ability to develop long-term relationships, as well as having an astute commercial eye for more immediate opportunities.
- Interest in economics, business and current affairs, and be able to hold a constructive conversation with field experts
- Organised with the proven ability to generate leads.
- Fully IT literate with demonstrable experience with a CRM, preferably Salesforce.
