The company This company is at the forefront of academic learning in the field of science and works to support the scientific community in developing new research and making that research available to global organisations. The company works with Universities including Oxford , Cambridge London and Manchester Universities as well as Universities across France, Spain and Latin America, researchers , PhD students and with non-profits and also with private pharma and biotech companies and libraries looking to share information on new discoveries in medicine and science that will help all of humanity
You will work to manageable revenue targets for your territory and this role is a creative and
” consultative” sales role in which you will be speaking to an educated and sophisticated audience
Aim of the role: B2B role in which you will be speaking to academic SME’s within pharma, publishing or tech across the Dach and Benelux region
Duties
Converting inbound enquiries into sales (50% of the role)
- Responding to inbound subscription enquiries from libraries and educational organisations
- Converting the lead into sales
- Working a very fast sales cycle of 1 week from enquiry-to-close at an average sales revenue of £6k
New business development (50%)
- Proactively selling database and AI solutions to biotech, pharma and software businesses
- Attending science networking events across the DACH region
- Establishing personal contacts with decision makers (usually scientists )
- Staying on top of trends within science and new cutting-edge research
- Working at a slower, more consultative sales cycle of 18 months with average sales value of between £100k-£1m per annum
- Liaising with the marketing team who will create compelling marketing campaigns on your behalf
- Stay up-to-date on global science, medicine, technology and information industry trends
- Attend and pitch at presentations . Deal closing
- Account Management and nurturing in order to embed the relationship for up to 12 months before passing it over to the retention team
Experience
- Conversational German or Dutch or French
- Experience in publishing , education , pharma or technology
- Used to selling into the DACH area
- Degree educated
