ACADEMIC PUBLISHING SALES & ACCOUNT TEAM MANAGER
This is an interesting and topical ACADEMIC SALES/ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT role within education and publishing. You will be managing a portfolio of already-successful non-profit relationships with international Universities and research institutes, all of which are looking for creative solutions to advertise their prestigious new scientific discoveries, job openings and research papers . This is a very gentle consultative role in which you will deal with a highly educated audience of academics, PhD students and non-profits to support their business and branding goals. You will also be required to attend some scientific events in order to meet clients personally. It’s a delightful leadership and sales role in a meaningful environment

Salary : to £53,000 with bonus of additional £25,000 pa

The company works with Universities including Oxford , Cambridge London and Manchester Universities as well as Universities across France, Spain and Latin America, researchers , PhD students and with non-profits and also with private companies looking to share information on new discoveries in medicine and science that will help all of humanity
You will work to revenue targets for your territory and this role is a creative and traditional ” consultative” sales role where personal relationships count for everything and trust is valued. There is some ( limited) international travel
Your role : Based in the Commercial Team, you will work with existing ( & some new ) clients to develop fresh solutions to meet the needs of research-related institutions in advertising their new open job roles and internal vacancies
Your clients are all publicly and privately funded research institutions with the common goal of creating and communicating the highest impact scientific discoveries to the world. Your role is to help these institutions (including hospitals) to recruit the best scientific talent in the world
Role:
- To manage and support a portfolio of public and private research organisations looking to engage and recruit the best talent in the world
- You will need to create solid relationships with senior academics , understand their needs and then direct them to the best tools available to create branding solutions to help them attract talent
- Develop an understanding of government funding cycles for hospitals and other public sector institutions within research and science
- Liaise with key stakeholders in editorial, publishing, marketing, production and technology departments
- Attend scientific industry events to build new customer relationships and cultivate existing ones;,
- Manage and motivate a team of sales executives to perform optimally , but with great care to customer attention
- Meet your clients face to face and on-site
- Monitor sales performance and undertake forecasting for your territory
- Sell digital, print and offline products ( webinars etc)
Requirements:
- B2B publishing or technology sales experience
- Fluent English: other languages are useful
- Experience in team management
