Role: Tax Business Analyst
Expected duration: 6 months (may extend or convert to permanent)
Pay rate: £140 to £216 per day (PAYE inside IR35) – depending on experience (Equivalent salary £36,600 to £56,000)
Location: Hybrid working with 2 days in the office in Central London and 3 days working from home
Start: Immediate
Our client is a global technology leader. Their Global Tax Services team ssupport internal tax with governance questions providing data. They looking to recruit a business analyst to support Indirect Tax Audits and work in support of Audit Readiness.
You will extract and analyse data from multiple sources and reconcile against tax returns and summarise data.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, and ability to work to strict deadlines, good experience with SQL, Excel and Alteryx. Tax knowledge is not a requirement but would be a plus.
You should be available to start immediately or have a short notice period in your current role.
Responsibilities
- Supporting indirect Tax team on Tax audit on daily basis
- Diving deep into the details to develop meaningful findings and provide required data
- Interfacing with Tax, Finance and Accounting customers, gathering requirements, and delivering solutions
- Analysing and solving problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context
- Learn and understand a broad range of company data resources and know when, how, and which to use
Requirements
- BS degree in Accounting, Business, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with Alteryx
- Experience with data investigation across business processes/business systems, especially SQL proficiency pulling data from various sources.
- Demonstrated strength in SQL, data modelling, ETL development, and data warehousing
- Multiple years of experience in data engineering or analytics within a technology environment
- Advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualisation tools like Tableau or similar BI tools
- Advanced ability to draw insights from data and clearly communicate them to the stakeholders and senior management as required
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills with ability to balance multiple priorities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience within Tax/ Accounting
- Familiarity with API’s, JavaScript, Python
- Knowledge of data management and data storage principles
- Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
- Experience building large scale data products incrementally and integrating and managing datasets from multiple sources
