FOOD Safety Manager /Quality Assurance

TITLE : Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager
Location : High Wycombe
Work style: Hybrid: 3 days in office ( of at supplier sites) . 2 days wfh
Languages: Any language
Travel involved: Yes. There will be a considerable amount of supplier related travel in this role to go to factories in Europe and beyond ( 2x monthly)
Salary : Total comp of circa £68,000 ( composed of base of £55k+ £7750 car allowance and £5,500 bonus)

Summary of the role : To ensure that all foods adhere to company specifications, to maximise product quality, food safety and profitability. This will be achieved by ongoing continuous performance improvement against KPIs, managing effective root cause analyses with Suppliers and tracking performance improvement against agreed timelines. There are 4 key elements to this role :
DUTIES
1)Food Safety Compliance
- Ensuring that suppliers work to agreed product specifications.
- Reporting any gaps to the Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager (FSQA)
- Mentoring of suppliers and purchasing teams
- Ensure that suppliers adhere to food safety policies & procedures
2)Complaints management:
- Delivering improved quality and food safety performance
- Challenging Suppliers on the root cause analyses of issues,
- Undertake Quality Net complaints analysis, routine testing or other performance indicators;
- Investigate issues and deliver improvements;
- monitoring performance improvements
- Liaise with Purchasing team to engage and motivate Suppliers where this is a problem.
3)KPI Food Supplier Management
- Ensuring Suppliers are aware of and are committed to delivery against KPIs
- Identify and improve any under-performance issues
4)Ongoing Quality Assurance and food safety
- Work to ensure that an effective handover is received to take QA responsibility after any product launch.
- Ensuring that handovers are documented.
- Any issues identified at handover have a clear action plan to resolve,
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree
- BI dashboards
- Food/Factory Auditor and HACCP experience
- Food QA background
- Packaging knowledge (not essential)
- Experience in dealing with suppliers
