Underwriter, Bridge Finance

Our client is a CFA authorised, specialised lender that provides swift, competitive bridging loans. With deep experience in the real estate and financial worlds, they have an unique understanding of its clients’ challenges and offers a simple, flexible approach. We are growing swiftly so are seeking to recruit an experienced Bridging Finance Underwriter to come and join our friendly and motivated team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the entire lending process from application through to drawdown to include oversight of the underwriting and due diligence processes. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a number of years’ experience within bridging lending.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Central London (fully onsite)

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the entire lending process from application through to drawdown to include oversight of the underwriting and due diligence processes.
• Action new lending requests for bridging loans and analyse credit worthiness
• Prepare detailed credit proposals for submission to the Credit Committee
• Preparing offer documentation and ensuring all loan conditions are met throughout the drawdown process
• Underwrite and approve loans against agreed lending criteria
• Handling broker calls on specific cases under review; manage customer expectations
• Liaising with internal departments (Legal, Risk and Sales) and external parties (Surveyors, Solicitors and Customers) to effectively manage the lending process

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of work experience within the Bridging and/or Development Finance sector
• Previous underwriting mandate experience is essential
• Ability to structure transactions based upon market sector, asset and security
