Pay rate: £180 to £210 per day + Holiday pay
Location: Central London – Hybrid working with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home

Our client is a global e-commerce and retail business. They are creating a portfolio of private brands in consumer goods across a wide range of categories and quality tiers.
They are looking for a Vendor Manager to drive Private Brand sourcing & scaling initiatives within private label product categories (Fresh products), covering both physical stores and online.
The Vendor Manager will engage directly with multiple internal teams to ensure the business has the right selection and vendor proposition for long-term success. The Vendor Manager will utilise a wide range of skills and work across major functional areas such as category management, pricing, inventory management, supply chain, marketing, and finance to drive the performance of selection and strategic vendor partners. The Vendor Manager will support wider business initiatives around selection expansion, vendor negotiations and engagement etc.
Key job responsibilities
- Act as the business owner for their categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business
- Have a thorough understanding of seasonality and global trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, while meeting tight deadlines
- Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability goals.
- Owning forecasting, monitoring, understanding, and reporting on vendor, along with responsibility for driving strategic supply chain projects and promotions to achieve business objectives
- Acting as the business owner for their categories, including managing the P&L
Requirements
- 2 to 3 years’ experience within a buying/purchasing role.
- Grocery experience is preferred but not essential.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience Negotiating pricing, building vendor relationships
- Experience Reporting business performance to through Weekly Business Reviews
- Strong analytical skills (Excel)
- Experience managing internal and external stakeholder relations
