Dutch Localisation and QA Lead
TITLE: Dutch Localisation Coordinator
SALARY: £13 per hour+ holiday pay
EXPECTED DURATION: 3 months with the possibility that it will be extended
LOCATION: The role is predominantly home-based, preferably in the London area, as you will be invited for monthly office meetings
SECTOR: e-commerce/online environment
THE ROLE:
-Proofread all translation to verify that it is matching company image and requirements (The majority of the translation work is carried out by our main translation supplier and the language lead will proof-read it.)
-Perform the QA in a web-based environment (training provided)
-Provide language input to ensure the site has a look and feel.
-Find creative workarounds to deal with variables
-Provide creative solutions for translations for mobile apps, where string length is an issue.
-Other Dutch language work as required, such as localising geo names, QA’ing the live site.
Candidate requirements:
– Up to mother tongue standard Dutch
-Minimum of 3-year Web Localisation/QA and proof-reading experience
-Excellent written and verbal Up to mother tongue English
-Comfortable with Windows and Office 2007, especially Excel, as well as FireFox and IE-Good understanding of the geography
-Experience in web localisation an advantage
In addition, you should be:

-Quality-focused with a keen eye for detail

-Responsiveness
-Proactivity
-Familiarity with CAT and LQA tools, such as LISA, would be an advantage
-Experience with GlobalSight would be an advantage
The role requires roughly 10-15 hours per week, within normal office hours (9am-6pm GMT), but this can vary from week to week. The role duration is initially 3 months with the possibility of it being extended for longer.
