English Teacher

TITLE: Teach English in China

Location: Nanjing in CHINA

Languages required: English

Salary: to £30,000 gross salary paid in Chinese Yuen

• Free accommodation in a 2 bedroom flat
• Work Visa for up to 2 years,
• Airfare Allowance of £700 year
• School holidays (Total of 3.5 months over the summer and 1 month for winter holidays in addition to 11 Chinese public holidays).
• Chinese lessons.

The Company

You will work for an outstanding public school where you will be teaching English to Chinese pupils aged between 16-20 years old. This is an outstanding and exciting, opportunity for an English native speaker who is considering a move into teaching on a permanent basis, a career change, or if you are simply looking for a life-adventure in a totally different culture. You will be well looked after and will be housed near the school in a two bedroom “teachers” accommodation block with another British teacher. Nanjing is a large sprawling city with lots to do and inevitably, you will learn some Mandarin as well as get exposure to the Chinese way of life and culture. This role could also be beneficial to those considering a long term move into the British foreign office or Teaching in the UK .

The best part of this role is forming meaningful relationships with Chinese students and watching them learn and grow.

Duties

You will be working for an official Chinese Government scheme aiming to improve foreign language teaching in schools and to promote international understanding.

• Familiarising yourself with the English subject curriculum
• Timetable classes, plan lessons with a clear focus, marking work, reporting, reading
• Preparing interesting, fun and engaging English lessons
• Speaking to pupils in English, allowing them cultural insights
• Encourage pupil creativity
• Create activities, including theatre, music and games that will help pupils enjoy the subject

Requirements

• English to native standard
• Graduate
• Ideally TEFL/TESOL/CELTA qualification
