Are you ready to roll up your reading sleeves, put on your book eyes, and have a thoroughly book-tastic day?! If promoting the pleasure of reading among children and young people and setting them up for success in life is just your genre, check out World Book Day on 3rd March.
Now in its 25th year, this global event aims to change lives through a love of books and shared reading. Its mission is to offer every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own. And the best bit? You and your company are in a great position to help. Here’s how:
- Whether your company wishes to become a long-term commercial partner of World Book Day or would like to run a one-off fundraising event, your contribution matters. Email : hi@worldbookday.com to get the charity ball rolling.
- Throw a World Book Day party for family and friends. Download invites, posters, bunting and cake toppers from the event website. Ask everyone to donate and invite them to dress up as their favourite book characters. Make sure you provide lots of book chat, a few refreshments and some music. You could also hold a book bingo challenge, a book swap, a book scavenger hunt or sell cakes to fill the coffers.
- Get your colleagues on board with World Book Day’s convincing materials. Combine all the funds raised and make your contribution. Easy!
- Buy World Book Day clothing – badges, t-shirts and sweatshirts – featuring stunning illustrations by Allen Fatimaharan, World Book Day’s official 2022 illustrator.
So now you know how to help more children develop a life-long habit of reading for pleasure, all that remains to be done is to organise your fundraising event, have fun, and enjoy the warm afterglow of having made the world a better place.
Please let us know how you get on. As always, your trusted recruitment partners at ABL will be delighted to hear from you!
