We are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. It’s a major blow to the people of Britain, the Commonwealth and the world. For over seventy years, she dedicated her life to public service. Most of us cannot remember a Britain without her as our figurehead.
During her reign, The Queen was a great unifying and stabilising force, including at times of significant flux and change. She came to the throne in 1952 as a young woman of only 25 years of age. She vowed to devote her entire life to the service of her people, and that she did, quietly putting her sense of duty before all else. Her commitment to this promise and devotion to her people steered the monarchy and the Royal Family through many turbulent times, keeping them at once relevant and popular.
The Queen was not only the symbol of our nation’s strength. She was also a source of inspiration and comfort. The nation has immense affection for her, and her loss will be felt acutely for a long time to come.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family and the nation at large as we all come to terms with the sadness and grief we feel at the passing of a truly great person. Our Queen.
RIP your Majesty.
