There are plenty of changes afoot in the world of employment. These changes will all have some sort of impact on our lives, whether as an employer or employee and so we will be putting out a regular blog detailing what to expect from the government in the coming weeks and months and how this will affect our lives.

Potential Changes:
1. Raising Wages:
Labour plans to raise the minimum wage to at least £10 per hour and assess the National Living Wage to address the cost of living and inflation.
2. Banning Unpaid Internships:
Unpaid internships will be banned (unless they are part of an education or training course).
3. Paid Travel Time:
Travel time in sectors with multiple working sites will be compensated.
4. Fair Pay Agreements:
Fair Pay Agreements will be introduced through sectoral collective bargaining, establishing minimum terms and conditions for all employers and workers in a sector.
5. Social Security Reform:
Universal Credit will be replaced.
6. Statutory Sick Pay (SSP):
SSP will be raised and made available to all workers, including the self-employed and those on low wages.
7. Collective Bargaining:
Labour will look at strengthening collective bargaining rights.
