Do you struggle to find that pep in your step every morning? Do you often find that your day is unproductive and that you’re rushing to complete all your day to day task? We’re here to tell you it’s because you are not starting off the day the right way.
Now yes, we’re all our own human beings and therefore the way we work and motivate ourselves differs. However we do have one thing in common, our need for routine to keep us in check. That is why the morning routine is so critical in setting us off on the right track. We’ve come up with a routine that is a sure-fire way to get you going for the day and get you meeting those goals you’re striving for.
Wake up
We’ve gone right to the basics. Wake up. Before you get out of bed, allow yourself to focus into your room and adjust to the new day. Don’t play on your phone though, once your consciousness starts kicking in, force yourself to get out of bed.
Make your bed
This is a common practice for most; some people don’t follow by this morning rule. If you’re one of them, then it’s time for us to tell you, you’re missing out. You have no idea how good it feels to make your bed and how that straightforward task makes your room look ten times tidier. Plus that feeling of getting into your bed after a day full of living is like an extra special treat.
Shower and get dressed
Showering in the morning is a great way to wake your body up. It’s always a way to signify to your mind that your morning has started. The dressing part is crucial even if you’re only staying at home. Staying in ‘home’ clothes can make you feel lethargic or too comfortable to be productive. Getting dressed as if you need to be in public is just a subtle way of telling yourself that it isn’t a day to relax but to work.
Have breakfast
We know we’re not your parents so we don’t mean to nag, but breakfast truly is the most important meal of the day. There are so many studies to prove this, why not take a look for yourself? Having a small meal in the morning jump-starts your metabolism but also sets you up with your energy and goodness early in the day.
Brush your teeth
Hygiene task but just another way to complete your routine. Just like with all the other tasks, the important part is keeping this routine going so that they become triggers for your day to start. Plus, brushing your teeth is right for you and gives you a boost in confidence should you have to go out.
Begin
We know it’s cheesy, but the best way to start a productive day is simply to begin. If you’re working from home, have the day off. If your planning on doing something with your kids, the way to get on with your day is to begin. The previous tasks were getting ready you for this moment; you’re there, you’re all set. Just begin.
With time following these simple tasks will create the routine that you need to follow daily. These will set a precedence to how productive you are, by completing the tasks you are already accomplishing a big job which is setting your day right, so why not give it a go? We bet you’ll find that mentally and physically you’ll be raring to go.
